Vehicle Showing on AutoTrader After Removal from DealerKit

If a vehicle is no longer advertised on DealerKit but still appears on AutoTrader, it is often due to an active reservation or deal in the Portal.

To check this:

  • Log into the Portal and confirm whether a reservation or deal is still active.

  • Or locate the vehicle in DealerKit, click Links, then select View on AutoTrader.

Leads from AutoTrader Not Coming Through

This issue usually occurs when a lead has already been opened in the Portal or via email before it reaches the system. It can also happen if you have a linked email account open in another window or background app. Once a lead has been opened or viewed, it is no longer classed as new/unread and will not be received by DealerKit.

There may also be a 5–10 minute delay in lead delivery depending on server load.

AutoTrader Valuation/Price Tracker Differs from DealerKit

The valuation and pricing data shown in DealerKit is provided directly from AutoTrader via the API. If the retail value or price indicator differs (e.g., one shows Good Price while the other shows Great Price), this is usually caused by a specification mismatch between the spec AutoTrader holds and the spec/derivative entered in DealerKit.

If changes have been made or the valuation appears out of sync, go to the Pricing screen and click Refresh to re-sync the Retail Check data.

Vehicle Not Advertising to AutoTrader

If a vehicle is not advertising to AutoTrader and is returning an error, the most common causes are:

  • Mandatory field missing or invalid
(e.g. fuel type, body style, transmission)

  • Price or mileage outside AutoTrader rules

  • Derivative mismatch (spec does not align with AutoTrader lookup)

  • Image issues
(corrupt image, unsupported format, or zero-byte upload)

  • Vehicle marked as sold or reserved on AutoTrader but updated as live
